boys ten and older participating in activities with their fathers.
This program is the next step from the YMCA Indian Guide program

- Weekend trips to destinations within driving distance
Benefits
Through Trailblazers, the YMCA provides the following benefits to both parents and children:
- Foster companionship and understanding and set a foundation for positive, lifelong relationships between parent and child.
- Build a sense of self-esteem and personal worth.
- Expand awareness of body, mind, and spirit.
- Provide a framework to meet a mutual need of spending enjoyable, constructive, and quality time together.
- Enhance the quality of family time.
- Emphasize the vital role that parents play in the growth and development of their children.
- Offer an important and unique opportunity to develop and enjoy volunteer leadership skills.
- Offer opportunities to meet other families with children the same age.

Organization
Trailblazers do not have tribes, we
are all one big happy family! This
means there are no monthly tribe
meetings, which was one the best
methods of communications in
Guides. We do have monthly
see planning meetings for Dads at 7:00
pm on the first Thursday of each
month at the Y office. Everyone is
invited and encouraged to attend
these meetings. This newsletter,
published monthly in print and via
e-mail, is your other way of keeping
up to speed. If you have e-mail it is
very important that we have that
information (
Our leadership structure is much
looser and less defined. Everyone is
invited to participate and get
involved. The Trail boss takes
responsibility for running meetings
and facilitating events.
Because our group is much smaller
than guides we can be more flexible
about the events we do. Events will
vary year to year and individuals
that wish to organize ad hoc or small
group events are encouraged to do
so. Our events are selected to
provide new challenges and
excitement for the boys (and dads!)
as they grow older.
Fundraising to help defray event
costs is provided solely by the
wreath sale. Unlike Guides, all
profits from the wreaths we sell go
to our event fund.Info Our leadership structure is much
looser and less defined. Everyone is
invited to participate and get
involved. The Trail boss takes
responsibility for running meetings
and facilitating events.
